Connecting beauty needs with beauty pros

My Beaute is for clients, DYI enthusiasts and those wanting to book or learn a new beauty routine. Most of the classes are free and available to all. Customers are rewarded with redeemable Beaute points that can be used towards services and paid courses.

MY ROLE

Lead designer, Lead researcher, Hair styler, Beauty connoisseur

As a lover for beauty and a hair braider who has been learning hair art since the age of seven in Senegal, I enjoy dealing with my clients and communicating with them about likes and dislikes on beauty appointments that they normally book.

After discussing with my clients for a time frame of six months and focusing on their pain points, I decided since I love to braid hair, to do a passion project focusing on how I can take the hassle out of beauty appointment booking and make it a smooth and easy process for both the client and the pro.

IDEATION SESSION, 1st WEEK

Facilitation - Raising Your Beauty Standards

My goal for this project is to create an end-to-end experience for salon goers, owners, DIY enthusiasts and beauty pros to be able to compare different service needs, book services, as well as being able to keep it all organized without any confusion.I facilitated a five-day design sprint ideation session, where I focused on the long term goal, challenges, sketches and mapped out a rough journey for the users.

My high- level goal is to:

  1. Make it easy and free of complications.

  2. Save users time by doing the hard work for them.

  3. Create a platform that both beauty providers as well as those needing services can use

Let’s Design Inclusively

The user base for the app are individuals who are into getting different beauty services but are sick and tired of the old school way of doing things. To avoid certain biases, I studied and conducted research on all clients ranging from different demographics. This way, there wasn’t any stereotype to begin with.
